Fred Johnson (The Butcher of Anderson Station, rebuilding) is a character in The Expanse, part of The Belt / OPA. Fred Johnson was the Earth colonel who massacred surrendering Belters at Anderson Station — then learned the surrender broadcast had been jammed, resigned in disgust, and defected to the people he'd butchered. Now he runs Tycho Station and the respectable wing of the OPA, trying to midwife the Belt from terrorist franchise into nation-state. To Earth he's a traitor, to half the Belt a war criminal in convenient repentance; to the Rocinante crew, the nearest thing to an honest broker the Belt has.
