Merle Dixon in The Walking Dead

Who is Merle Dixon in The Walking Dead?

The brother on the roof · The Living Threats

Merle Dixon (The brother on the roof) is a character in The Walking Dead, part of The Living Threats. Merle Dixon is introduced firing at the dead from an Atlanta rooftop, high and ranting, and ends the episode handcuffed to a pipe by the new sheriff — abandoned when the key is lost. What walks out of that debt (minus one hand, plus one blade attachment) resurfaces in Woodbury as the Governor's enforcer: racist, loyal to no one but Daryl, and more self-aware than his bluster admits. Merle is the show's thesis on wasted men — capable of the worst, and of exactly one redeeming choice.

When does Merle Dixon first appear?

Merle Dixon first appears in Season 1, Episode 2 (“Guts”) of The Walking Dead (2010–2022, AMC).
