Wallace (The kid in the pit) is a character in The Wire, part of Barksdale Organization. Wallace is sixteen, runs a count in the low-rise pit, and parents a rowhouse full of younger kids on snack cakes and stolen electricity. Gentle in a trade with no gentle positions, he does his job well right up until the job shows him what it actually is. Of all the pit boys, Wallace is the one D'Angelo watches with something like recognition, and something like dread.
