Boone Carlyle (The lifeguard out of his depth) is a character in Lost, part of Flight 815 Survivors. Boone Carlyle is the rich kid who wants so badly to help — a wedding-business heir and former lifeguard who keeps inserting himself into rescues slightly beyond his competence, usually to be fished out by Jack. Tangled up in a complicated devotion to his stepsister Shannon, Boone is the beach's eager apprentice in search of a master, and he finds one in John Locke: the first adult to take him seriously, and the one who leads him to the thing buried in the jungle.
