Who is Sawyer in Lost?
The con man who reads · Flight 815 Survivors
Sawyer (The con man who reads) is a character in Lost, part of Flight 815 Survivors. James 'Sawyer' Ford hoards the wreckage's supplies, assigns everyone insulting nicknames, and makes himself the man the camp loves to hate — a role he auditions for on purpose. The southern drawl and the paperback in his back pocket hide a con man whose defining wound is the letter he carries: a child's unsent note to the original Sawyer, the grifter who destroyed his family, whose name James took like a curse. He pre-empts rejection by earning it. The island, infuriatingly, keeps offering him reasons to be better.
